-

RESIDENTS of a nursing home in Bukit Dumbar, Penang, were excited to be part of the wedding of their “granddaughter”.

China Press reported that the 23-year-old bride, Tan Yue Pheng. is the niece of Peace and Harmony Home founder Tan Swee Ban.

Yue Pheng and her husband Teoh Chee Boon, 24, served tea to the bride’s elder relatives as well as the 33 senior citizens during the ceremony held at the home on Sunday.

The couple also presented ang pow to the elders.

The daily reported that Yue Pheng always visited her 85-yearold grandmother Gan Tea Booi – Swee Ban’s mother – who has stayed at the home since September 2015.

She would also spend time with other residents, who treated her like their own granddaughter.

Swee Ban said many of the elders did not have children and were excited when invited to be part of the wedding ceremony.

“They kept asking me what to wear and requested for their hair to be done up,” he added.

> The daily also reported that a female driver was driving on the highway when a male driver forced her to pull over, only to realise that he was a Good Samaritan who spotted her burst tyre.

The woman, known only as Dyla, shared her experience on social media, saying the man overtook her and forced her to stop, and then walked towards her car.

“I was so worried what the men would do to me. One of the men asked if I had a spare tyre. They helped me to change the tyre and left,” she said.
