Arena resigns as United States men’s squad manager

NEW YORK: Bruce Arena said he had resigned as manager of the United States men’s football team after failing to guide them to a spot in the 2018 World Cup Finals.

Arena was hired last November with the tall order of getting the US’ qualifying campaign back on track but came up short this week after a humiliating 2-1 defeat at the hands of Trinidad and Tobago. — Reuters
