PETALING JAYA: Although the ticketing counter will only be opened this afternoon, Jacky Cheung (pic) fans have been queuing up at Quill City Mall in Kuala Lumpur since Wednesday for tickets to the Cantopop star’s concert.

Ticket sales for Cheung’s A Classic Tour concert will be launched at noon by event organiser Star Planet.

The Hong Kong God Of Song will serenade fans at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil (formerly known as Putra Indoor Stadium) on Jan 2627 next year.

Quill City Mall vicepresident of marketing Joseph Teo said the first five people in line had been queuing since Wednesday.

“The launch will be happening at the mall’s centre court. The first group has made a spot for itself at Starbucks. There are about 200 people in line now and we are expecting more today,” Teo said yesterday.

He also said the management had increased security presence at the mall for the fans’ safety.

A 17yearold student, who only want to be identified as Qiao Er, said she and her mother started queuing on Thursday.

“We hope to get front row tickets because we heard that those are going to be sold out fast,” she said.

Another fan, Sunnie Ooi, said she had been at the mall since 9am on Thursday.

The first 250 fans to purchase their tickets on launch day are entitled to a 10% discount and advance purchase privilege at 11am. Tickets are priced at RM988, RM888, RM748, RM618, RM488, RM368 and RM258.
