Brothers in court for fighting on emergency lane

KUALA LUMPUR: Two brothers were hauled to a magistrate's court here for allegedly fighting with each other on an emergency lane in August.

Muhammad Nor Amin Abd Razak, 19, and Abdul Aziz Abd Razak, 28, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The brothers were jointly charged with committing affray by bickering and pushing each other on the emergency lane near the Jalan Ipoh roundabout, Sentul, here at 7.40am on Aug 20.

The charge under Section 160 of the Penal Code carries a maximum six months’ jail, a fine of up to RM1,000 or both.

DPP Ahmad Zikri Jaafar offered bail at RM4,000 in one surety for each of the brothers.

The men, who were unrepresen­ted, asked for a lower bail as they were taking care of their aged parents.

Magistrate Rahni Kartini Abd Rahim fixed bail at RM1,200 each and set Nov 17 for mention.

Separately, at the Sessions Court here, two friends claimed trial for allegedly robbing a reflexolog­y centre.

Muammar Hanaffi Jaafar, 23, and Muhammad Hakim Abdullah, 21, pleaded not guilty to robbing employees Ho Jin Aik, 41, and Wong Jen Fui, 48, and relieving them of RM600 cash and three handphones worth RM2,880.

They allegedly committed the offence at No. 82-1, CWK Reflexolog­y, Jalan Rimbunan Raya, Laman Rimbunan, here at 8.50pm on Oct 10.

The charge under Section 395 of the Penal Code carries a maximum 20 years in jail and whipping.

DPP Amira Sariaty Zainal did not offer bail as the men were accused of a serious offence. They were unrepresen­ted.

Sessions Court judge Syed Faisal Syed Amir fixed RM6,000 in one surety and ordered for the accused to report to the nearest police station each month.

The case is fixed for mention on Nov 15.
