The RM700mil set aside by PJ City council for 2018 will go towards improving facilities and services for residents in PJ. That’s appreciated. The Klinik Kesihatan Kelana Jaya, PJ, is congested and stuffy. The district needs a hospital in Kelana Jaya to serve patients in the surrounding areas. The Health Ministry should review the situation. – SJ, Kelana Jaya > Trust local schools
Why must we learn in Singapore? Why must we send our children to Singapore to learn English? Our teachers are equally good or better than those in Singapore. We should have trust and faith in our teachers and schools. Our top people, ministers and ambassadors are very good in English. – Magen, Batu Caves > Let EPF be your future
Authorities should conduct more nationwide road shows on the importance of keeping one’s savings in EPF. More and more people are withdrawing their savings from EPF but EPF is a future lifesaver. Many people don’t understand its purpose. The authorities must conduct educational awareness programmes for their contributors. Otherwise we will see more debt-ridden Malaysians. – NV Subbarow, Penang. > Sleeping on the job
Some security guards are not doing their job during the night shift at condominium blocks. They are either sleeping or playing with their mobile phones at certain corners of the property. – Observer Joseph Invisiblegrille > How long to lay cables?
As a resident of Bdr Puteri Klang, I am utterly frustrated with TM. For five days in a row there has been no Internet service. They say they are laying fibre optic cables in the area. How long will they need? They can’t tell. Is this acceptable at all? > Oppose RUU355
There is sound basis for Ti Lian Ker to assert that PAS is an unreliable party for flip-flopping on when to debate the RUU355 Private Members Bill – whether in the next parliamentary session or after GE14. This contentious Bill has been partially debated three times and left many on tenterhooks each time. The Rulers’ firm call for moderation must be respected and the Government must decisively oppose this Bill. – Beatle No.5 > Fine must fit the crime
A report in The Star says a cashier used a customer’s ATM card and withdrew RM10,184 from the account but the court only imposed a fine of RM6,000 on her. That means, she still made RM4,184 from her crime. > Firecracker ban lifted?
Is the ban no more? People seem to be firing firecrackers day and night so freely.
