ALTHOUGH actor Alvin Chong was elated to be in director Ryon Lee’s new horror film Haunted Hotel, he will not be accepting offers in the same genre anytime soon, reported

Chong, 26, said he gained valuable experience throughout the shoot in Genting Highlands.

However, the actor – who plays the role of an employee in a haunted hotel – said he is done with horror films for the time being.

“I still feel scared at home even after the production has wrapped up,” he told the publicatio­n.

The successful film also stars Thai actress Aom Sushar and Chinese actor Li Chuan, with Malaysians Teddy Chin and Nadia Aqilah in supporting roles.

It is being screened nationwide and has opened in China.

> Datuk Seri Vida has denied a viral posting on social media that she wants to hire a chauffeur with a monthly salary of RM7,000, Kosmo! reported.

Vida, whose real name is Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, said her company received many calls from eager applicants after the fake job ad made its rounds.

“The ad is not real, and it has created confusion among the public,” she told the daily.

“I don’t want this issue to turn into something toxic.”

Vida, 46, said she already has three chauffeurs, each of whom earns RM5,000 a month.

Deputy Minister Datuk P. Kamalanath­an said that it has already been incorporat­ed into the syllabus of subjects such as Science, Moral Education and Islamic Studies.

“The ministry welcomes the recommenda­tion to improve sex education, to ensure the safety of our children whether they are in the real world or online.

“The expansion of knowledge (in sex education) also allows our children to understand and be more alert to the risks of sexual crimes,” he told the daily.

Kamalanath­an, however, said that sex education would not be made a subject on its own, stating it might clash with other subjects.
