M’sian introduces Kundalini Yoga to German martial arts school
A MALAYSIAN Kundalini Yoga practitioner has introduced the practice to a German martial arts school which teaches pupils from 34 different countries, reported Makkal Osai.
Sitrarasu Ayyavu received his accreditation in the practice in 1976 from Guru Paranjothy, founder of the Kundalini Yoga system.
Following a 21-day workshop at Alex Sports School in Germany, students there expressed interest in learning the advanced forms of the practice, he added.
The owner of the martial arts school in Germany, Alex, his wife and nearly a dozen of their students are in Malaysia to further learn from Sitrarasu.
Alex said his martial arts school teaches seven different types of martial arts and they intend to incorporate Kundalini Yoga as well.
Having produced several world champions in the martials arts, Alex wanted his students to take on the yoga practice as well.
> Seventy words from various Indian languages including Tamil and Telugu have been added to the latest edition of the renowned Oxford English Dictionary (OED), reported Tamil Nesan.
OED World English editor Danica Salazar said the new words would add to the 900 or so Indian origin words already in the OED.
Most of the 70 new words are related to relationships, cultural terms and food.
