Bride put off by banquet hall decorated in white

-

A BRIDE refused to go on with the wedding ceremony after she found out the banquet hall was decorated in white, an inauspicious colour, in her village in Hangzhou, China, China Press reported.

The couple had paid 26,500 yuan (RM16,906) to a wedding planner company to decorate the hall in a champagne colour.

But to their dismay, the hall was decked out in white instead.

Also, the bridegroom claimed that the decor was not the same as what was shown to them during the negotiation. Although the bride was very upset, the groom managed to persuade her to continue with the ceremony.

A spokesman for the company said it was willing to pay 8,000 yuan (RM5,095) to the couple as compensation for the “misunderstanding”.

The boy had accidentally knocked down a three-year-old and fled the scene without checking on the younger child.

His parents noticed that he was acting strangely and spoke to him about it. He then told them about the incident.

They insisted that he write six apology letters, addressed to the parents of the victim, and saying that they would pay the medical expenses.

The letters were then posted up around the neighbourhood.

Later, they were contacted by the other family who accepted the apology but declined to accept any compensation.
