TAYLOR’S COLLEGE ANNOUNCES MOVE TO LAKESIDE CAMPUS
ESTABLISHED in 1969, Taylor’s first made its mark as a college that offered pre-university programmes. It served as a gateway for students to pursue further education in top universities around the world.
Today, Taylor’s has grown into a reputable educational institution that has two separate entities, Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University.
Next year, Taylor’s College which has been operating from its campuses in Subang Jaya and Sri Hartamas, will be offering its renowned pre-university programmes at the Taylor’s Lakeside Campus.
The move marks a brand new chapter for the college to further improve its offering to students by providing a conducive educational environment.
Taylor’s College campus director, Josephine Tan, believes that the move will have a positive impact on students.
“Through the experience of being in an integrated campus, and having the opportunity to interact with their counterparts who are pursuing their university degrees, students will be able to thrive in the future when they move on to university,” she added.
2018 will also be an exciting year for Taylor’s College students as they will be the first batch to join the Taylor’s University students on the Lakeside Campus.
Parents will be happy to know that their children will be able to enjoy the state-of-the-art facilities available at the award-winning campus.
The Lakeside Campus boasts modern facilities such as wellequipped science and technology laboratories, and a four-storey library complete with a mini theatre, discussion rooms and computer labs.
These facilities are set up to provide an enhanced learning environment for students to thrive.
On the other hand, students who wish to participate in recreational activities can rest easy knowing that there’s a fully equipped gymnasium with a swimming pool and a sports complex.
Taylor’s Lakeside Campus also houses outlets such as Starbucks, FamilyMart and other restaurants, so students will never need to worry about running out of food choices.
The Lakeside Campus is host to a vibrant community of international students.
Students will be able to mingle with peers from varying backgrounds who hail from different parts of the world.
Currently, there are over 2,000 international students from an estimated 80 countries in the Lakeside Campus.
While the move is a big change, Tan believes that it is beneficial in the long run.
“In life we must move forward with an open mind to embrace change.
“Only then can we thrive wherever we are, no matter how complex and challenging the changes may be.
“The more we welcome change, the more agile we will become in adapting to challenges in life,” said Tan.
Despite the move, Taylor’s College will remain a separate entity from Taylor’s University. Taylor’s College will continue to offer foundation and pre-university courses while looking into offering new courses to expand its product offering.
Meanwhile, Taylor’s University will continue to focus on undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as high-impact research.
