This figure excludes China. China is said to have executed the most criminals but the exact number is unknown as this data is considered a state secret. > Worldwide, 141 countries are abolitioni­st in law or practice. Those “in practice” still retain the death penalty but have not executed anyone in the past 10 years.

The Cabinet has agreed to review thhe Dangerous Drugs ActA 1952 to allow judgges to use their discretion when sentencing insteadd of requiring them to impose the mandatory death sentence.

> There were 1,122 prisoners on death row nationwide as of Feb 21. Between 2014 and Feb 21, 16 people were executed in the country.
