Expert: Mysterious hole just remnant of drilling work

THE “mysterious” 3.6m hole that appeared along Jalan Kampung Rampai in Sikuati, Kudat, and which sparked a frenzy among local residents, has been found to be the remnant of a previous drilling work, reported Kosmo!

Universiti Malaysia Sabah geologist expert Prof Shariff Abd. Kadir S. Omang said: “The hole is most probably an excavation work done by some parties for exploration purposes or to study the earth’s layers.

“The light coming out of the hole could be evaporated water or gas that had been trapped within the hole for a very long time due to high pressure.”

The mysterious hole caused fear among the people living in the area.

Some speculated that aliens had made the hole when they saw lights appearing at about 2am last Friday.

Kudat OCPD Supt Douglas Taong said there was no report of any similar sighting elsewhere.

> A 16-year-old girl was raped by several teenagers and then left in the woods in Kajang on Saturday, reported Harian Metro.

Prior to the 4am incident, the girl agreed to hang out with two male friends. The victim was taken from her Bandar Puchong Jaya home for dinner at a restaurant nearby.

After dinner, the victim was taken to a house in Seksyen 4, Bandar Baru Bangi.

A police source said the victim was shocked to see a group of male teenagers in the house.

“At first they were just chatting. Later, her friends told his friends to go into a room and molest her.

“Two more boys entered the room and did the same,” he said.

They then forced her into a car as the girl begged to be sent home. Instead, she was driven to the woods.

“She was also beaten up and told to hand over her belongings,” the source said.

“When she refused, they forcefully took away her mobile phone, watch and cash before kicking her out of the car.”

A Rela member who was doing his rounds found her.

“A report was lodged at the Dengkil police station,” added the source.

Police are currently tracking down the teenagers involved.
