Learn new ways of staying healthy

Exciting games, talks and exhibitions await visitors

PETALING JAYA: The public will get a chance to learn and try out new ways of staying fit and healthy at the Star FitForLife 2017 Penang health fair.

This year’s event is the third consecutive fair for the benefit of Penangites and those in the northern states.

Great Eastern chief executive officer Datuk Koh Yaw Hui said they wanted to show Malaysians that living great starts with a balanced and holistic approach to physical fitness, mental health, emotional wellbeing and financial wellness.

“We also want to show the people new ways of staying fit, ways that they may not have considered before,” Koh said.

He said in 2012, they made a decision to go beyond their role as an insurance company to become a LIFE company and actively support Malaysians in “living healthier and better”.

Great Eastern was the first insurance company in the region to launch an integrated health and wellness programme.

The LIVE GREAT programme provides wellness tools, health tips, mobile apps, workshops and events, as well as exclusive privileges to encourage the people to make healthier choices in life and get rewarded.

“Now, we are the exclusive event partner of FitForLife for six consecutive years. Every year, there is an increasing number of visitors to the fair. The last FitForLife KL in Mid Valley Exhibition Centre attracted some 60,000 visitors and many of them took part in our booth activities,” he said.

The event, an extension of the FitForLife annual fair held in Kuala Lumpur, will have exhibitions, health and lifestyle talks, and exciting stage activities, plus cash prizes to be won. For the FitForLife Penang event, there will be various creative games and activities at the Great Eastern Pavilion including ice-skating, a dodgeball tournament and clinic, complimentary health checks, Live Great Wall Challenge and many more.

One of the highlights to look out for is the Live Great with Jay Chou Instagram Wall.

Visitors who snap a photo of themselves with loved ones at the photo wall and upload to Instagram with a creative slogan will be in the running to win a pair of The Invincible 2 Jay Chou Concert Tour 2018 VIP tickets worth RM728 each!

Besides, visitors will get to experience the latest trends in all aspects of fitness, health and wellbeing, from diet to nutrition, exercise, stress management and beauty.

Star FitForLife Penang 2017, with the theme “Get Fit. Live Great!”, is aimed at inspiring Malaysians to lead a healthy lifestyle by being physically and mentally fit.

The event is organised by Star Media Group Bhd with Great Eastern Life as the exclusive event partner. Nestle Omega Plus is the official wellness sponsor.

The fair will be held at Spice Arena in Bayan Lepas, Penang, from tomorrow to Sunday. It is open from 10am to 7pm. Admission is free. For details, contact 03-7967 1388 (ext 1529/1243/1466) or visit www. facebook.com/starhealthfair.
