SHAH ALAM: Indonesian Siti Aisyah was in bed in a hotel room with the door ajar when she was arrested in connection with the murder of North Korean Kim Chol, the High Court heard.

Arresting officer Supt Nasri Mansor, 40, said the accused was arrested on Feb 16 at Flamingo Hotel in Ampang.

Upon receiving information at 1.30am, Supt Nasri said he and his team left the Sepang district police headquarters and headed to the hotel at 2.15am.

The team took the elevator to Room 356 on the third floor.

“As we reached the room, I observed that the door was slightly ajar.

“I knocked on the door and entered the room,” he said yesterday.

The witness said a woman was in a bed in a brightly lit room as all the lights were on.

Supt Nasri said he introduced himself and showed his authority card.

He informed the suspect that his team was raiding the room.

“She appeared shocked and asked what her offence was.

“I asked her to tell me who she was and she gave her passport. Her name was Siti Aisyah,” he added.

Upon further inspection in the room, the police team seized two mobile phones, a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses in its case, US$300 (RM1,254), a Louis Vuitton bag, a pair of shoes, a pair of denim pants, a sleeveless top, a shawl and a passport.

“All the items were placed in a black plastic bag.

“Siti Aisyah was handcuffed and taken to the Sepang district police headquarters. She arrived there at 4.15am,” the witness said.

During cross-examination, Supt Nasri disagreed with a suggestion by defence counsel Gooi Soon Seng that Siti Aisyah was not alone in the room.

Gooi: I put it to you that the room had been rented and lived in by Siti Aisyah and two other women known as Mey and Wati for about a year.

Supt Nasri: I do not know.

Gooi: When you raided the room, Mey and Wati were there with the accused.

Supt Nasri: I disagree.

The witness also disagreed to a suggestion that Mey and Wati were the ones lying on the bed while Siti Aisyah was sitting on it.

Supt Nasri was testifying in the trial of Siti Aisyah, 25, and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, 28, who are jointly charged, with four men still at large, with killing Kim Chol, 45, at the KLIA2 departure hall on Feb 13.

Kim Chol is the alias used by Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, whenever he travelled.

The hearing continues before Justice Azmi Ariffin today.
