Rocker’s kin charged with pilfering RM30,000
PETALING JAYA: The son and daughter-in-law of veteran rocker Man Kidal and a friend were charged with misappropriating RM30,000 belonging to a technician.
Mohd Shefflee Rahman and his wife Shireen Amani Lucia Lerang, together with Amirullah Basarullah were accused of misappropriating funds belonging to Mohd Shahrizal Mohamad Jaapar, 37, which was deposited into the bank account of investment firm Global Tijari Industries Sdn Bhd.
Global Tijari Industries is owned by Shireen Amani, 30, and Amirullah, 49, and managed by Mohd Shefflee, 33.
The offence was allegedly committed at Jalan Klang, Puchong, at 6.20am on June 27, last year.
The offence, under Section 403 of the Penal Code, carries a jail term of up to five years, whipping and fine, if convicted.
All three pleaded not guilty before magistrate Nurulhuda Zakariya yesterday.
Deputy public prosecutor Norazalina Razali offered RM15,000 bail for each of the accused.
Nurulhuda allowed bail at RM5,000 in one surety each and fixed Dec 18 for mention.
All three were sent to the prison as they could not post bail.
Mohd Shefflee is the eldest son of Man Kidal, or Rahman Mahmood, a guitarist with the rock band Lefthanded, which was famous in the 1980s.
