Perak MB unshaken by Opposition attempts to discredit him
IPOH: Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir is unfazed by the Opposition’s attempts to smear his reputation.
He said that even with his opponents hurling rude remarks at him in public, he is not worried because it is merely part and parcel of the “Opposition’s games”.
“I want to remind the people, judging by the way they (the Opposition) are acting and to the extent of using insults, do we really need this kind of politicians to represent us?
“This is something we should ask ourselves,” he told a press conference after chairing the state executive council meeting yesterday.
Dr Zambry said he believes the best way to respond to the accusations and allegations levelled against him is in a gentlemanly manner, even if others expect him to behave otherwise.
“As seen in the recent state assembly sitting, I allowed the Opposition to ask me questions when I was presenting my debate.
“I won’t play to the gallery because I believe we should all debate based on facts and the truth, instead of using halfcooked, manipulated data to discredit others,” he said.
As the general election is approaching, Dr Zambry said it is expected that more insults, accusations and character assassination will surface.
“All they are trying to do is to smear my image,” he said.
Dr Zambry said he has faith in the people who know his work and achievements for Perak.
“Whether I’m a bad or good leader, let the people be the judge,” he said.
