Singer Elyana counters publicity stunt claims

SINGER Elyana (pic), 30, who recently revealed that she is battling cancer, has denied allegation­s that she made the announceme­nt to gain public sympathy, Harian Metro reported.

She said if she had wantedted sympathy,sympathy she would have revealed herr condition as soon as doctors made thhe diagnosis shortly after she gave bbirth to her daughter in 2012.

“If I wanted sympathyy, I would have made the announcemm­ent much earlier. At that time, I was not making money and could not afford to buy medicine or even milkk.

“But I never shared mmy problems with anyone, not evven my family. It is my principle notn to burden anyone else,” ssaid

Elyana, whose real name is Erneelya Elyana Emrizal.

She said she was touched by the response from her fans and the general public.
