> Thorny issue

The issue with Malaysian durians is that we do not have enough of the fruit that has caused their price to escalate. I hope our Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister doesn’t waste much time in getting a QR code for the Musang King. What he should focus on is to plant more durian trees to supply the fruit to the markets so that everybody can enjoy cheap durians.

> Treasure the forest

It is not only the #savemerapoh campaign that the Government should emphasise to strictly fend off development. Development in any forest reserve will only benefit and enrich certain individuals. The Government shouldn’t allow the nation’s treasured heritage to be sacrificed. Our politicians must act responsibly by safeguarding our forest reserves.

> Religious tolerance

Being Taoist, my mother and sister were not in favour of my maid praying to a picture of Jesus Christ in her room. Both believed there should not be two different Gods in the same house. My belief was my house was blessed by two Gods and I respect all religions. After working with us for seven years, my maid finally left for home, and parted on good terms with all members of my family. — Fairplay

> Our school, our pride

My alma mater St Thomas Kuantan did not only have a proud history of academic and sporting excellence but produced many towering Malaysians. No facts or figures needed. Ask the teachers, students, parents, people. — Student of Life, Class of 6979

> Grouses to air

An airport that looks messy, is poorly designed and confuses travellers. Signbords that are not properly displayed with many food outlets make it look like a market rather than an international airport. Please get rid of those things.

> Higher expenses

Schoolbus fares are increasing from January. No consideration from the operators and Government. How are parents with two or three schoolgoing children going to manage? — Subra

> Honest leaders win

Any political party should know that allowing past tainted members to campaign on their behalf is not a good idea. These members will only drag down the integrity of the party. Only honest and untainted people will be a winning factor.

> Help the homeless

I suggest MRT Corp and Alam Flora employ homeless people in Kuala Lumpur as general workers with accommodation and daily wages provided. — SAM

> A load of rubbish

Majlis Perbandaran Kota Baru, please be informed that for the past weeks your lorries have not turned up to pick up the rubbish in our Taman Kenangan. l have called your office two days in a row to report the matter but there is still no action. The rubbish keeps piling up there and is rotting. Your inaction reflects your inefficiency and irresponsibility towards the community.
