FORMER Akademi Fantasia contestants Marsha Milan Londoh and Velvet Aduk will collaborate on an album with Sabah songs, Berita Harian reported.

Marsha, who is from Tamparuli in Sabah, said she and Velvet have been planning to produce the album for a long time.

“We came up with this idea several years back but both of us were so busy that we could not find time to seriously discuss about the album.

“Velvet and I are also of Kadazandusun descent, so we will also be making songs that reflect our culture,” said the 31yearold.

Velvet, 30, said they have yet to decide if the songs would be in the Dusun language or in Malay, sung with a Sabahan accent.

They plan to release a single next month followed by the full album later.

> The daily also reported that the duration of the Jalan Merdeka exhibition at Carcosa Seri Negara will be extended until March 31 next year.

Asian Heritage Museum chief executive officer KK Tan said the exhibition, which opened in Sep

tember, was originally scheduled to run only for a month.

“However, due to popular demand, its duration was then extended to December. Now, it has been extended to March next year.

“So far, about 10,000 people have visited the exhibition which displays more than 500 pictures related to the history of Malaysia’s independence,” said Tan.

> A man who tried to bribe an Immigration officer with RM90, was slapped with a RM10,000 fine, Sinar Harian reported.

In addition to the fine, Lim Choon Chuan, 36, was also sentenced to seven days in jail by the Ipoh Sessions Court.
