Pet buffalo gores owner to death

Animal runs amok just before being sold

-

A FATHER was fatally gored and trampled by his pet buffalo that he was trying to sell to fund his child’s college education.

Kosmo! reported that Bazararuddin Yeop Yahya was loading the animal onto a lorry when it suddenly went amok.

During the Wednesday evening incident in Kampung Gantuk in Temerloh, several men, including Bazararuddin’s brother-in-law Mohamad Abdul Jalil, were helping Bazararuddin, 59.

“When Bazararuddin was holding the leash, the animal suddenly gored him in the abdomen, thigh and crotch,” said Mohamad Abdul, adding that its horns were over 90cm long.

“It didn’t stop there. The bull then started stomping on him violently.”

Mohamad Abdul said his brother-in-law was left in a bloody state, with several broken ribs and wounds from the attack .

“But even in that state, my brother-in-law insisted that we load the buffalo onto the lorry. He told us to sell his beloved bull for RM4,000 to fund his daughter’s studies,” he said.

Bazararuddin’s neighbour Rizal Illah, 45, said the victim told him the money was to send Farah Zulaika, 19, to her second semester in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

“We carried out his dying wish, sold the bull and handed the money to the family,” he said.

Temerloh police chief Supt Zuhdin Mahmud confirmed the incident.

He said the sale of the buffalo was finalised before the victim was brought back to his home, and then sent to Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah for treatment.

“However, he was declared dead on arrival, with the cause of death determined as severe bleeding from the chest and abdomen,” he said.

The police confirmed there was no element of foul play.

> A woman caught with her lover during a raid by the religious department was found to have brought along her four-year-old child for the tryst, reported Harian Metro.

The 31-year-old woman was among seven couples caught by the Negri Sembilan Islamic Affairs Department (JHEAINS) during a raid at a budget hotel in Senawang on Monday.

JHEAINS enforcement chief Ahmad Zaki Hamzah said the couples – aged between 19 and 48 – were being held on allegations of adultery.

“When arrested, the woman confessed to bringing along her child as she was in the midst of a divorce.

“There were also foreigners among the couples arrested. There were Muslims from Bangladesh and Indonesia,” he said.

He said the raids were done in three locations across Bandar Baru Nilai and Senawang as part of Ops Bersepadu Krismas that was held from 9pm to 6am the next day.
