Chen to play Teresa Teng

TAIWANESE actress Michelle Chen Yanxi (pic) is expected to play the role of iconic singer Teresa Teng in a new drama series, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The production crew had earlier chosen another actress, Ariel Lin, for the role but changed their minds due to her highg ppay. y

The crew later cast Chen, famed for her role in the e popular Taiwanese romance You Are The Apple of My Eye.

Chen, who is knownn for her sweet smile and cheruubic face, was recommended dduring a meeting and the creww immediately contacted her maanager.

It was understood that the series, focusing on thhe life of Teng who tragically passedd away from a respiratory attack in 1995 when she was only 42, wouuld be aired in two parts.

reported that it was believed that a charging phone was the source of a fire at a shophouse in Shah Alam. A foreign worker who was sleeping at the unit managed to escape the fire unharmed.
