Victims warn public of conman ‘spiritual master’

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Six victims of a “spiritual master” have banded together and are warning the public about the conman and his antics.

Collectively they were duped of about RM100,000 and only realised they had been cheated when they started sharing their experiences with each other.

One of the victims, who only wanted to be identified as Ng, said she sought the man’s assistance after finding out about him on Facebook in 2014.

Ng’s former maid placed 13 used sanitary pads in the ceiling of her house, sparking fears of black magic.

The man told her she required cleansing and was instructed to purchase his sessions.

Ng underwent a total of six sessions, between 2014 and 2016, paying around RM7,000 in full.

She was also told to “cleanse” her family’s properties, which led to a further RM9,000 in fees.

The conman even told her that her pet dog required cleansing as well.

After she finally decided to stop, the con man started threatening her by saying that misfortune would befall her family if she did not continue paying for his services.

Another victim, who didn’t want to be named, said the conman had told her that her daughter was being followed by evil spirits.

“He said that if I stopped the sessions, they (the spirits) would continue following her,” she said.

All six stopped all communication with the scammer in mid 2017 before approaching MCA’s Head of Public Services and Complaints Department Datuk Seri Michael Chong for help.

The victims decided to come forward to highlight their experiences to the media at Wisma MCA yesterday.

Chong advised all the victims to lodged police reports as their cases involved elements of cheating.

“These scammers also used scare tactics to keep victims paying. Don’t fall into their trap,” said Chong.
