Najib: Can a bankrupt govt record 6.2% growth?

-

KOTA MARUDU: A government that is “bankrupt” would not have been able to sustain itself, let alone bring fresh development to the country, says Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Prime Minister said if the claims were true, he could not have announced fresh allocations for Sabah.

“Can a bankrupt government give bonuses to civil servants; can we allocate billions to build news schools and repair old ones in Sabah?

“Can a bankrupt government record growth of 6.2% for the third quarter of 2017 and also be given an A rating for financial management?” he asked.

“Please do not believe the Opposition. All they are trying to do is to get the people to be suspicious of and hate the government,” he said when opening the RM34mil SMK Bandau here yesterday.

He described the Opposition’s allegations as the opposite of what the Barisan Nasional government had achieved and would continue to do.

Najib, who was on a two-day visit to Sabah, said while politics was important, it should not be above and beyond the interests of the people and nation.

Najib gave an assurance that the Barisan would continue to deliver on all its pledges.

“All I ask of you is two hours of your time; to come out and vote for Barisan when the time comes,” he said.
