WILSON STAFF are looking regain some their past glory and in the process have a new C300 family of crossover metalwoods featuring their Power Hole technology - innovation that was first developed in the C200 irons.

Speaking in Kuala Lumpur about their new line and what it means to the company that was started in 1914 and enjoyed great success down the years, Wilson Staff global product director Mathias Landblad said they were “excited about the research and development gone into the making of the new product line.

“And because of this, we are looking forward to the year. The complete line will be unveiled at the PGA Show and after that we expect things to really get going.”

Landblad said the generation of new Wilson Staff metalwoods includes an all-new driver, fairway woods and hybrids, “all developed for players seeking maximum distance in traditional, Tour-preferred shapes.

“The proprietary Power Hole technology is blended with a cutting-edge head design to create the new Wilson Staff C300 family of performance metalwoods,” said Landblad, who added that Wilson had a record 61 Major champions who used their irons in triumph. “Among these were Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Billy Capser, Hale Irwin, Johnny Miller, Ben Crenshaw and more recently Padraig Harrington, and

LPGA stars Patty

Berg and Babe Zaharias.”

Explaining the patented Power Holes technology, Landblad said: “It is based on thr rough holes being positioned around the face of the club to generateg explosive distances acr ross the entire face by flexing morem at impact.

“And with a sleek ma atte-red finish, the driver, fairw way woods and hybrids combine style with innovative design.

“For sure, the quality of materials deliver an exciting family with increased face deflection at impact resulting in greater ball speeds and longer drives.

“Furthermore, the new Fast Fit Technology 3.0, a one-piece aluminum hosel adapter combines the adjustable hosel adapter and ferrule for easy assembly and improved durability.”

Also paraded by Wilson Staff was their new Duo Soft low compression golf ball, which has been completely redesigned for 2018.

“This is industry’s leader in low (29) compression golf balls,” said Landblad. “And they are not only the softest, but also the longest, straightest and more durable.

“The Duo Soft features 3% larger core than before, for increased ball velocity and a softer, thinner sodium-zinc ionomer cover for optimal distance and durability.

“This two-piece golf ball also provides low driver spin to ensure good yardage and a great soft feel,”
