SITF steps in to help Indian students register for school
THIRTEEN Indian students in Perak who were unable to study due to lack of documentation have been finally allowed to go to school.
This is after the Special Implementation Taskforce on Indian Community (SITF) intervened in the matter, Tamil Nesan reported.
SITF’s Perak coordinator M. Nadaraja said they were informed after the students found themselves unable to register for school.
Nadaraja said it was found that the students lacked proper documents, so the schools refused to sign them up.
The first batch of students were identified and their details were shared with the Education Ministry following discussions with Deputy Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan.
He said one of the main problems was that the students did not have their mother’s names stated on the documents.
The taskforce assisted the families in submitting the proper information to the National Registration Department, after which the ministry permitted them to register at the schools.
He said SITF would continue to identify similar cases in Perak and other states to assist these families.

The footprints were found after a man claimed Lord Hanuman from the Hindu epic Ramayana appeared in his dream and said he was entombed in the area.
