Clinic assistant: I’m losing sleep over good Samaritan

(pic), 33, was so touched by the kindness of a man who helped her when her car broke down during heavy rain that she has been losing sleep thinking of his deed.

Harian Metro reported that Azliza penned a Facebook status which has since gone viral, looking for the man in his 40s. He stopped to help push her car, which had stalled in front of Masjid Baru Padang Perahu, Jitra, while on the way to Perlis on Monday.

Azliza, a single mother of an eight-year-old boy, said she did not post the status to look for love as claimed by many netizens, but had truly wanted to repay the man.

“During the incident, there was a flash flood due to heavy rain, which caused my car to stop on the right lane, horizontally in the middle, near a dangerous turn.

“I was scared of being hit by a car or a lorry and no one helped me,” she said.

Azliza then saw a man riding a motorbike and waved at him from inside her car. The man rushed over to help her push the car to the roadside.

She did not manage to get his name, number or motorbike number plate as he disap- peared while she was talking to a friend, who happened to pass by.

“I implore the man to contact me immediately. If he is someone’s husband, then I will pay for his family’s groceries and monthly expenses because I owe him my life,” she said.

Segamat OCPD Supt Raub Selamat said the incident happened at about 2.30am on Wednesday after the man confronted the 34-year-old woman and her boyfriend at her home in Kampung Batu Hampar.

He said the suspect and the woman were colleagues at a supermarket here, and he had been renting a room at the woman’s home over the last two years.

Supt Raub said the suspect was said to have become furious when he found out that the woman had a new boyfriend and that she had also accused him of molesting her daughter.

He said the suspect hit the woman, and stabbed her boyfriend when the latter tried to intervene.
