KLANG: The rift within Selangor Pakatan Harapan is growing wider with DAP now joining the fray to attack the mentri besar.

In the latest turn of events, Selangor DAP strongman Ronnie Liu launched a blistering attack against Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.

In a Facebook posting, the former Selangor exco member asked if it had indeed been Amanah that was lying about the seat negotiations in the state.

“Come on MB Min (Azmin). Stop thinking the rest of us (including Tun M) are stupid and you are the only one that’s clever and good in politics.

“By now everyone in Pakatan knows who u r. To me, u hv failed miserably. U r not fit to be our state chairman,” wrote the Selangor DAP committee member.

Liu also said protesting against Azmin did not mean protesting against PKR.

The attack follows the spat between Azmin and Selangor Amanah chairman Izham Hashim who earlier claimed that seat negotiations in the state had stalled.

This led to Azmin calling him a liar while Izham retaliated by saying that the Selangor Pakatan chief was a joker unfit to lead the state and coalition.

When contacted, none of the DAP leaders wanted to comment on the matter.

However, PKR’s Sri Andalas assemblyman Dr Xavier Jayakumar called the attack “uncalled for and should not have happened”.

“Pakatan should focus on winning the polls as opposed to fighting each other,” he said.

Another PKR leader aligned to Azmin claimed there were internal forces within the party ganging up with DAP and Amanah to launch attacks against the mentri besar.

“Certain people within the party see him as a threat due to his strong position and some from Pakatan find that they cannot manipulate him,” said the leader.

Selangor Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari said seat negotiations had not stalled as claimed by Izham.

“Sometimes, the state leaders send representatives instead of attending the negotiations themselves and that is why misunderstandings like this arise,” he said when met at a Ponggal event in Kapar.

Negotiations, he added, could only be sealed and settled if the chiefs of all the four Pakatan parties were present at the meetings.

“Anyway, we have until the seventh of this month to conclude the discussions,” he said.
