Dept: We’ve yet to decide on eight who falsified OT claims

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Health Department has yet to decide on the future of eight medical officials who pleaded guilty in court to falsifying overtime (OT) claims.

Department director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi said there were standard operating procedures to follow in all government department­s when dealing with such matters.

But she did not indicate whether the eight officials would be allowed to return to work.

It is learnt that the eight, who are attached to the ophthalmol­ogy clinic at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, were suspended after they were charged in court late August.

On Feb 2, Naza Fadirul @ Mick Ab Satar, 33; Jaduin Untop, 30; Terence Linchos, 38; Mohd Rosidih Mohd Saidi, 38; Zulkifli Arun, 28; Noor Salim Mohd Zin, 27; Mohd Akmal Hafiz Mohamad Ariff, 26; and Juraineh Musalim, 30; were fined a total of RM115,000 after pleading guilty the day before.

According to earlier reports, Naza made the most false overtime claims of RM22,216.61, followed by Jaduin ( RM19,992.63), Terence ( RM18,829.44), Mohd Rosidih (RM16,696.10), Zulkifli ( RM14,065.91), Noor Salim ( RM13,466.89), Mohd Akmal ( RM12,842.26) and Juraineh RM8,647.40, between Feb 1 and June 30, 2016.

Hospital director Dr Heric Corray had, following their court appearance, said yesterday that they would be officially suspended once court proceeding­s were over.
