POPULAR Hong Kong stand-up comedian Dayo Wong Tze-wah said he will visit Malaysia to thank fans if the box office of his latest Chinese New Year movie, Agent Mr Chan, hits RM20mil, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Wong stars as top agent Mr Chan alongside movie star Charmaine Sheh (pic).

“I will pay all expenses to fly Sheh to Malaysia and treat her to crabs. We will fly to Malaysia to thank our fans,” said Wong in a press conference in Hong Kong.

He is also one of the scriptwriters.

The movie will also see stars such as Alan Tam, Michael Hui, Sammi Cheng and Miriam Yeung making cameo appearances.

Wong said he took two years to complete the script.

Wong and Sheh first collaborated

in Hong Kong TVB drama series, You’re Hired.

> The daily also reported that the Chinese are using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to produce Spring festival couplets ( chun lian).

AI Spring festival couplets, a col- laboration between CCTV.com and Tencent AI Lab, is the latest hit in China.

Users just need to type the key words to get their personalised Spring festival couplets.

They can then send the couplets to their relatives and friends. It is the latest trend this year.

With black or golden characters written on red paper, Spring festival couplets compose of a pair of poetry lines written vertically and pasted on both sides of the front door.

Topping it off is a four-character horizontal scroll affixed above the door frame.

Pasting couplets has become one of the traditions during the Chinese New Year.

The couplets usually express happiness and wishes for a better life in the coming year.
