MCA’s CNY video highlights togetherness
PETALING JAYA: This year MCA’s Chinese New Year video features party leaders helping to prepare traditional cuisine of the Chinese community to highlight the importance of togetherness and unity.
The video, produced by the party’s publicity bureau for the third consecutive year and starring MCA leaders, was for the first time shot outdoors in Bentong, Pahang and Yong Peng, Johor.
In the video, MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai is seen busy preparing deep fried sesame balls, signifying fullness and perfection.
Other leaders from their respective groups are also featured preparing traditional cuisine to underscore the importance of continuing traditional customs.
The last segment shows a reunion held at Dewan San Choon in Wisma MCA.
“Extending wishes to party members and the Chinese community for a blessed year ahead, MCA central committee members also took the opportunity to wish each other well, and to drink and dine together, in an atmosphere of harmony and joy,” the MCA publicity bureau said in a statement.
The video sends out a clear message that unity is of paramount importance, as in the case of preparing the delicacies which can only be turned out when everyone helps out.
“Likewise, the vision of national unity may only be accomplished with everyone single-mindedly working together; and a united Chinese community will be able to achieve any goal, just like a reunion dinner – it is meaningful only when everyone is present,” the statement added.
