Sew, that’s what the needles are for?

-

A WOMAN was sentenced to 10 weeks in jail by a Singaporean court for mailing two sewing needles, hidden in a greeting card, to her husband in Changi prison, reported China Press.

Agustina Arshad, 33, claimed that during a visit in August, her husband told her that he needed the needles to sew his torn prison clothes.

When she suggested that he send the clothes to the warden, the husband said that it was troublesome and asked for the needles to be hidden in a greeting card.

Agustina then removed a page from a greeting card and hid the needles along the spine before reattaching back the paper and mailing it to the prison.

However, the needles were detected during an x-ray inspection and police traced the card back to her.

She was sentenced on Friday. Investigations revealed that her husband had actually asked for the needles because his cellmates wanted to be tattooed.

> The daily also reported a strange phenomenon of a 58-yearold man in Jiangxi, China, whose head would “emit” smoke whenever he ate spicy food.

In a footage posted online recently, white smoke could be seen rising from the top of Chen Airong’s head when he ate spicy food. He was also sweating.

“My friends always tease me, asking if I practise any special martial arts. But even I don’t know why this happens,” said Chen.
