Pahang coach Dollah glad to see team playing to his orders

-

PETALING JAYA: It’s jumbo joy for the Elephants coach Dollah Salleh.

The Pahang boss heaped praises on his players after they pulled off their second straight win in the Super League, beating Selangor 3- 1 on Saturday.

The Elephants’ last-minute signings Patrick Cruz and Francis Doe delivered the goals to ensure a comfortable win at the Cheras Football Stadium.

Cruz opened the scoring in the seventh minute but Rufino Segovia equalised for Selangor from a spot-kick in the 38th minute.

Doe regained the lead for Pahang in the 48th minute before converting a penalty in the 71st.

Pahang started their campaign with a goalless draw with Perak before losing 1-0 to PKNS. They posted their first win, beating Kelantan 3-0, in the third match.

A jubilant Dollah said he was glad to see the team finally playing the way he wanted.

“This is what I want from the team and I’m proud of their performance,” said Dollah during the post-match press conference.

“Cruz twisted his ankle two days ago and Doe was not 100% fit but they wanted to play and they duly delivered.

“The others also did well in the match. Selangor are a team who can beat any side but my players did well to get the win.”

Doe, who scored his third goal for Pahang in

only his third match, said he was glad to help the Elephants collect the full points.

“It’s not about the goals I score, I just want the team to win,” said the Liberian striker, the Golden Boot winner in 2012.

“My chemistry with Cruz was good. We’ll get better as we play more matches. I hope to help the team win one trophy this year and I’ll also try to win the Golden Boot.”
