CHINA Press reported that Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau, who injured himself in a fall from a horse early last year, is getting back on track with his showbiz career.

After about a year of recuperation, Lau will star in Chinese blockbuster sequels The White Storm 2 and Shock Wave 2.

Production company Universe Films announced that The White Storm 2 will start filming this summer and Lau, apart from acting, is also the film producer.

It said Lau also promised to appear again in Shock Wave 2 following his overwhelming role in the first movie.

Director for both films, Herman Yau, revealed that both films would carry a fresh storyline and have no connection with the previous movies.

> A gang specialising in stealing birds’ nests was caught after the birdhouse’s anti-theft system was triggered, Guang Ming Daily reported.

The owner contacted the police when he saw three intruders captured on CCTV at about 4am on Saturday.

Two men, aged 23 and 29, were arrested but one managed to escape.

According to birdhouse operators in the area, the men had been active for some time. They would go around in a van to identify “weak” birdhouses.

They usually strike at dawn and would dismantle the CCTV system to destroy evidence.

Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Saifi Abdul Hamid confirmed the case.
