Cops arrest 14 involved in Macau Scam

THE Commercial Crime Investigation Department has arrested 14 men involved in a Macau Scam, China Press reported.

Those arrested, aged from 16 to 36, have reportedly been active for a year in Melaka, Johor, Penang, Negri Sembilan, Perlis, Kedah, Perak and the Klang Valley.

Police began investigating after a 54- year- old woman lodged a report on March 13 that she was scammed of RM40,000.

The police raided five apartments in Bukit Jalil, Happy Garden and Puchong Jaya and seized 899 units of communication equipment as well as scripts in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
