Liow presents motorcycle licence to Roberto Carlos
BENTONG: Roberto Carlos is in town. Not the one from Brazil, but Kampung Sungai Miak here.
Meet our very own Roberto Carlos Smith, who has just received his SPM results and a motorcycle licence.
The former student of SM Ketari is also a keen footballer who represented his school as a midfielder and a striker.
“My father gave me this name. His favourite team is Brazil.
“I love this name too. It’s special and my classmates always teased me. But I am happy with the attention.
“Of course, Roberto Carlos is my idol, naturally,” the 18-year-old said.
Roberto, who is from the Temuan tribe, received his probation B2 motorcycle licence for 250cc class and below from Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai at the ministry’s carnival in Dataran Bentong here.
He spent several months learning how to ride a motorcycle and had taken four rounds of tests.

Born on Oct 10, 2000, Roberto is the eldest of three siblings.
He has no plans of being a professional footballer as he feels studying is more important.
He will enrol in a polytechnic after scoring all credits in SPM.
“A good education can change my life for the better,” he said.
Roberto said he would be glued to the television to watch the World Cup this June, and he looked forward to meeting his namesake one day.
“I hope to meet him one day in Malaysia since he is now our ambassador,” he said, referring to the appointment of Roberto Carlos as AirAsia’s global brand ambassador on Friday.
