Scholarship to study Hindi
THE Kendirya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of Hindi) is inviting Malaysians keen on learning Hindi to apply for a scholarship under the Promotion of Hindi Abroad (PHA) Scheme.
The 2018-19 academic session is from Aug 1, 2018 to April 30 next year.
Under the scheme, international students can earn a certificate, diploma and advanced diploma in Hindi language proficiency.
They can also apply for the postgraduate diploma in Hindi.
Successful applicants will study at the institute’s headquarters in Agra, India. They will receive a monthly allowance of Rs.6000 (RM363) and a book grant of Rs.1000 (RM61) per annum. The institute provides hostel accommodation at nominal charges.
Only those who have completed the STPM or equivalent, and are aged between 21 and 35, are eligible.

The application form must be submitted together with a certificate of physical fitness, a recommendation letter from a linguistic expert, lecturer, professor, or university director, and the applicant’s academic certificates and relevant documents including the birth certificate, passport or identity card, and a certificate of conduct from the head of institution last attended.
Applications must be submitted in person to the High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur, before March 31.
