Law conference for students
THE Law Society which is under HELP University’s Faculty of Law and Government is organising a conference by students for students.
The Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Abdul Malek Law Students’ Conference 2018 will act as a platform for undergraduates and postgraduates reading law in Malaysian universities to engage in critical issues that are fundamental to both the rule of law and the legal system in Malaysia.
The theme of the conference is “Law in an Era of Change: Legal Challenges facing the Nation State”.
The law students’ conference is in memory of Tan Sri Dr Abdul Malek Ahmad, who was the former president of the Court of Appeal.
He placed great importance on upholding the rule of law, justice and fairness – values that must resonate strongly in the nurturing of those who have embarked on the reading of the law.
Retired Federal Court judge Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram will deliver the keynote speech on “Challenges for the next generation: The Lawyer and Constitutionalism”.
The conference will be held at HELP University, Subang 2 Campus, Persiaran Cakerawala, Subang Bestari, Seksyen U4, 40150 Shah Alam, Selangor. There will be a shuttle service from Kwasa Sentral MRT Station.
It will be held on March 31 from 8am to 5.30pm, and is open to all students.
