> In the eyes of German tourist Achim Hegel, Malaysian police are the most helpful among those in five Asean countries, as reported by Sin Chew Daily.

The retired policeman from Frankfurt, who travels on a motorcycle, said Malaysian police have left a deep impression on him for lending him a helping hand.

He recalled an incident in Klang where he flagged down a patrol car to enquire how to ship his bike from the peninsula to East Malaysia.

“There were two policemen inside the car. One of them took down my number and told me to wait at a nearby shop for him to get off work.

“About an hour later, he really came back and led me all the way to Port Klang and assisted with the shipping procedure,” he said.

Hegel added that he had been to Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

> Chinese artiste Jane Zhang drew flak for a video of her singing and squatting on a dining table at a restaurant, the same daily reported.

She posted the video on her Weibo (Chinese Twitter) account last Friday.

The clip began with her singing with her palms on her cheeks, but as the lens zoomed out, it showed her squatting on a table with boiling steamboat soup and other condiments.

In her caption, she said she recorded the video as a punishment after losing a game on a television show.

While some people said the clip was entertaining, others criticised her for being unhygienic and lacking good manners.
