Anuar Zain hopes for good turnout at concert

EVEN with more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, singer Anuar Zain admitted he is still nervous about performing at large-scale concerts, Kosmo! reported.

Anuar, whose real name is Shahrul Anuar Zain, said his biggest worry was whether his concerts would be filled with fans.

The 48-year-old hoped there would still be fans who appreciate live performanc­es.

Anuar, who is scheduled to perform at a concert with Indonesian singers Bunga Citra Lestari and Yuka Karisma by the end of April, said he is looking forward to positive responses from fans.

“I am confident that with the support from Bunga, Yuka and my fans, the concert will be a success,” he said.

Wan Firdaus Norahim, 37, who had a nerve problem, met his wife Nurul Hidayah Ahmad, 30, a mute, at a sports event organised by a community-based rehabilita­tion centre in Bota, Perak.

“We communicat­ed through WhatsApp since then,” he said following their wedding reception, which was held at the same centre on Thursday.

Wan Firdaus said he was attracted to Nurul Hidayah’s kindness, honesty and sincerity, while she found him nice and helpful.

During the 4.40am incident on Wednesday, Mohd Jaya Vacho, who was on the night shift, fainted in front of the guardhouse upon seeing the factory building on fire.

The victim’s friend, who wanted to be known as Yoong, said Mohd Jaya was working alone.

Mohd Jaya was brought to Serdang Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after, he added.

Kajang Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohd Jaslizad Jalil said his team took quite some time to put out the fire as the factory was full of wooden furniture

“We only managed to put out the fire at 7am. By then 90% of the factory had been destroyed,” he said.
