Speaking well of Ayda’s role as a mute woman

reported.

Aku Nazmi trended on Twitter shortly after it aired, with fans applauding Ayda’s impactful acting in bringing her deaf and mute character to life.

She expressed her gratitude for her fans’ support.

“I attended a sign language class with producer Sheila Rusly for 10 days and cried every single day.

“It was especially hard as I needed to express my emotions without uttering a word,” said Ayda.

She added, however, that she had no problem rememberin­g the hand signs.

Indonesian preacher Gus Muwafiq commended Malaysia for the series, saying its moral values were admirable.

In a talk, he praised Malaysia’s efforts to educate the younger generation through the series by conveying the message of nationalis­m and the need to maintain harmonious relationsh­ips.

“By introducin­g characters such as the Indian boy Jarjit Singh, the Chinese girl Mei Mei and the Indonesian girl Susanti, children will see the need to establish relationsh­ips with people from other races and nations without prejudice,” he said.

> Angered by a system disruption, a man punched the screen of an automated teller machine at a bank in Air Itam, Sinar Harian reported.

OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said that in the 1.35pm incident on Saturday, the man was trying to check his account balance.

“The 36-year-old man admitted to punching the ATM screen because he was angry that the system slowed down when he wanted to check his balance,” he said.

The ATM screen was found broken, with bloodstain­s on the floor.

Based on informatio­n from the public, police later arrested a man with an injured hand who was seeking treatment at Hospital Pulau Pinang.
