Actress Lin: I’m not dating, married or pregnant

TAIWANESE actress Lin Chi-ling has denied talk that she has rekindled her romance with actor Jerry Yan, Sin Chew Entertainm­ent reported.

During a recent interview in Taiwan, she started off by saying “I’m not pregnant”, “I’m not getting married”, “I’m not going to Bali to get married” and “I’m not seeing anyone at the moment”.

Chinese media recently reported that Lin, 43, had gotten back together with Yan, 41, last year after they were seen together at a Kuala Lumpur hotel in November.

There was also speculatio­n that the couple never actually broke up, but got married in secret instead.

The latest talk has it that Lin is now pregnant with Yan’s baby.

They dated for six years before breaking up in 2006.

> A 37-year-old woman suffered a severe blood clot in the brain, believed to be caused by taking birth control pills, China Press reported.

The woman, from Zhongsan city in China’s Guangdong province, experience­d paralysis on the left side of her body and slurred speech.

She was rushed to hospital and underwent a six-hour operation to remove the blood clot.

Experts at the hospital said cases of young adults suffering blood clots in the brain had been rising due to high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholestero­l and smoking.

But the woman did not suffer from any of those problems. She had started taking birth control pills two months ago, leading the experts to believe this could be the cause.

> The city of Ikoma in Nara prefecture, Japan, has introduced a new rule prohibitin­g civil servants from using City Hall lifts for 45 minutes after smoking a cigarette, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The rule aims to prevent nonsmokers from inhaling secondhand smoke as it is hazardous to health.
