SEREMBAN: MCA is targeting to win two parliamentary and at least four state seats in Negri Sembilan, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

“We want to win back the Rasah and Seremban parliamentary seats. And of the 10 state seats we are contesting here, we hope to win at least four,” he said in his speech at the MCA “Start From Rasah” reunion dinner here yesterday.

The MCA deputy president said all the 10 DAP state assemblymen in Negri could do was “check the drains and condemn MCA”.

“What more can they do?” he asked.

“If we are given the chance, we will be vocal.

“With MCA representation in the state government and MCA exco members, the policies will be more balanced and comprehensive,” he said.

Also present was MCA Youth chief Datuk Chong Sin Woon, who will contest the Seremban seat, and MCA Youth Legal Bureau chief Ng Kian Nam whom Dr Wee said was likely to contest in Rasah.

In the last general election, MCA lost all parliamentary and state seats it contested in Negri.

Dr Wee commended Ng for his effort in drawing up a manifesto for the Rasah parliamentary seat.

“You have done a lot for Rasah, if we don’t let you contest here, I will feel sorry.

“You can sleep well tonight,” he told the candidate.

“We have a good chance in Rasah, as DAP’s incumbent MP Teo Kok Seong has been moved to contest the Bahau state seat.”
