Pribumi’s Mohd Radzi to contest in Ketereh

KOTA BARU: Temporaril­y de-registered Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia will field forensic accountant Dr Mohd Radzi Mohd Jidin in Ketereh to take on Umno Informatio­n chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

Kelantan Pribumi chief Datuk Kamaruddin Mohd Nor said former state Ministry of Trade and Industry director Azran Deraman would contest the Jeli parliament­ary seat against incumbent Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and yet-to-be named PAS candidate.

Trader Mohd Nor Hussin would be challengin­g the giant of Gua Musang, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, who had never lost in an election.

Umno has yet to name its candidates, but it is understood Annuar, Mustapa and Razaleigh would be fielded to defend their respective seats.

“Pribumi candidates will contest seven out of 14 parliament­ary seats in Kelantan. We will all contest under PKR logo,” said Kamaruddin when announcing Pribumi’s parliament­ary candidates yesterday.

Kamaruddin would be contesting the Pasir Puteh seat against Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

PAS Syura council secretary Datuk Dr Nik Muhammad Zawawi Nik Salleh is tipped to contest the Pasir Puteh seat.

State Pribumi informatio­n chief Zulkifli Zakaria would take on Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin in Bachok.

State Pribumi deputy chief Datuk Sazmi Miah would take on Umno’s rising star Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub in Machang.

Tumpat Pribumi division chief Datuk Nordin Salleh would be fielded in PAS stronghold Tumpat.
