Groom gets gift worth RM13,000
Dynas presents hubby with eye treatment
LASIK treatment worth RM13,000 was among the wedding gifts for the husband of actress Dynas Mokhtar.
On her part, Dynas received seven trays of presents which included RM30,000 of wang hantaran (gift money) and a jewellery set, Harian Metro reported.
The solemnisation and wedding ceremony between Dynas, 35, and businessman Mohamad Syazrik Che Mohd Din, 36, was held in Shah Alam.
It is the second marriage for Dynas, who divorced her first husband four years ago. She has two children aged six and eight. “We always go out together as a family. We make sure to include the kids in everything we do,” said Mohamad Syazrik, who described Dynas as a loving person.
> Actress Rozita Che Wan has scoffed at a fashion critic’s suggestion that designers should stop sponsoring outfits for her as her own clothing collection is vast enough.
“I have not been wearing a lot of outfits by fashion designers anyway. Are they going to listen to her (the critic)? Surely if I were to wear them, their designs would become more popular,” Harian Metro quoted her as saying.
Apparently, the fashion critic had made the boycott call as she was believed to be unhappy with Rozita’s manager.
The manager had allegedly circulated a Facebook comment by the fashion critic on body weight, which stirred controversy about body shaming.
Rozita, 45, said celebrities inadvertently help to boost the name of fashion designers, especially newer ones, when they wear their outfits.
“Is she (the critic) helping budding design- ers with what she’s doing now?” she asked.
> The Pahang Department of Environment has taken water samples from Sungai Aur in Muadzam Shah, Rompin, to investigate why the water there had turned green, Berita Harian reported.
Its director Rosli Zul said the samples were sent to the Pahang Department of Chemistry. The results will be known within a month.
Local resident Ahmad Rizal Abdul Hani, 39, said he hoped the problem would be settled quickly as the river was a source of water for them.
“We love this river,” he said, adding that it had giant freshwater prawns and various types of fish.
