I’m pleased to read “UEC recognition part of manifesto” ( The Star, April 24). Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said students must score at least a credit in Bahasa Malaysia and pass in History in the SPM examination. It’s interesting that in Sarawak, the state government has opened its civil service to UEC holders, who may also enter public universities in the state. – Bulbir Singh
