Jamal, 59, wants to have more kids

EIGHTIES pop icon Datuk Jamal Abdillah says that his age is no barrier to having more children, reported Harian Metro.

The 59yearold singer, who already has two sons from a previous marriage, said he had been energised by his marriage to his 24yearold wife.

“I love kids and I hope I will be able to have more sons this year,” he said.

Jamal said his wife Datin Zai Izzati Khiruddin had a miscarriag­e three months ago but added that this episode would not deter them from trying.

“We won’t give up and will keep praying as we believe that rezeki (fortune) comes from God,” he said.

The couple tied the knot on April 1.

> The same daily also reported that a teenager tried to jump off the Sultan Yahya Petra bridge in Kota Baru after separating from her boyfriend.

However, the 18yearold was rescued by a police patrol during the 10.45pm incident on Wednesday.

Kota Baru OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Mat Sidik said officers rushed to the scene upon receiving an alert and spotted the girl trying to jump off the bridge.

“A policeman along with other passersby managed to calm down the girl who was screaming and struggling after 30 minutes,” said ACP Ismail.

The teenager was sent to Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II for treatment before being brought to the Kota Baru police station where she was detained for investigat­ion under Section 309 of the Penal Code for attempted suicide.

> Kosmo! reported that a 35yearold man in Puchong, Selangor, died after being seriously injured in a ritual to rid himself of saka (spiritual parasites).

Police received a call from the Serdang Hospital about the man’s death at 10.10am on Thursday.

It is believed that the man, who was still single, had been undergoing the ritual conducted by a group of traditiona­l healers for three days in a row since Tuesday at a house in Taman Puchong Intan.

However, on the third day, the man complained of pain and his family members rushed him to the hospital at about 6am where he was confirmed dead.

It is believed that the man had suffered severe injuries on his body and six people, including a couple, had since been detained for investigat­ions.

> The same daily also reported that a popular radio presenter has been arrested for possession of a pistol and two magazines with a total of 32 live bullets.

The 27yearold man was detained during an operation by the traffic police from the Sungai Siput district police headquarte­rs on Thursday.

Perak CID chief Senior Asst Comm Yahya Abd Rahman said police had arrested the man after stopping his car.
