PASIR GUDANG: The Johor Barisan Nasional government is a caring government which looks after the welfare of the people, including those from other states who are living here, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

“We are an inclusive and fair government which cares for all, even those who are not born in Johor, as long as they contribute in some way to Johor’s economy.

“Some people questioned me on why I helped set up a Pasar Muafakat Sabah here. I did that because many Sabahans have been living and working here for more than 15 years.

“Their children are even born here, and their MyKid have the number 01 (Johor). The Sabah community here have contributed to the state’s success as others have too,” he said after attending the ground-breaking ceremony of the Pasir Gudang Indian community hall near here yesterday.

Mohamed Khaled advised the Indian voters in Johor to avoid being tricked by the Opposition.

“They (Opposition) make all sorts of promises to get their votes, but after winning, noth- ing was done for them,” he added.

On another matter, Mohamed Khaled said photos of large crowds attending certain Opposition ceramah did not necessarily translate to actual votes.

“Each Opposition candidate in a state has his own group of followers. When you bunch up all their candidates and their national Opposition leaders, of course there will be a large crowd,” he said on photographs of the audience at the Pakatan Harapan ceramah in Melaka on Friday, which was attended by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“I hear they (Pakatan) are planning to hold a similar event of that size in Johor before May 9. But don’t be fooled even if there is a crowd numbering in the thousands,” he said.

Mohamed Khaled also commented on Dr Mahathir’s presence at a Pakatan ceramah in Putrajaya on Friday.

He said 90% of the crowd was Chinese. “But in the Election Commission’s records, there are only about 1,000 eligible Chinese voters there. Don’t believe all the Opposition lies that the (Barisan) Government will fall,” he said.

Mohd Khaled also said that if the Opposition loses again in this election, their leaders will be claiming that Barisan cheated.
