DIVERSITY in people and culture are often said to be the key to the beauty of the world.

After gaining the recognition for having the most countries’ delegates taking part in a cultural event in 2017, the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology’s 2018 Cultural Festival is back, bigger and better than ever.

In the sixth instalment, 110 countries will be featured during the cultural extravaganza at Asia’s most international university on May 10.

Since it started in 2013, the Limkokwing International Cultural Festival has been attended by more than 39,000 guests and recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for organising the Most Number of Countries’ Delegates Participating in a Cultural Festival in 2016 with 93 countries and 102 countries in 2017.

Featuring “Be Fly” as its main theme, the cultural festival will showcase variations of cultural exhibitions from more than 100 countries through country booths and performance competitions.

It is also an opportunity for stu- dents to practise their skills in architectural design, communication, branding, ICT, event management, sound and music design, performing arts, and business. All of this creativity can be seen during the one-day festival making it truly one of the biggest cultural events in the world by a university.

The cultural festival will take the audience on a tour around the world through performances.

A love story between a man and woman from Pakistan, a traditional celebration from the Maldivian students, an interpretation of puri- ty and immortality from the Chinese students, and the evolution of a nation from the Bahraini students, will be among the performances visitors can expect at this year’s extravaganza.

Students from countries including the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Swaziland, Botswana, Lesotho, Kazakhstan and Malaysia are gearing up to welcome the world with their songs and dances.
