Hisham: I want support from all races

-

KLUANG: Barisan Nasional must get the support of all races in GE14 to avoid a hollow victory, says Umno vice- president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

He said that in politics, contenders are prepared to lose but he is more afraid of winning without getting the support of all communities, including the Chinese.

“As the incumbent Sembrong MP, I have done my best to meet the needs of all races, in particular the Chinese in Kahang and Paloh.

“I see positive changes from the community towards Barisan and I have done my best,” he said after meeting orang asli communities at Kampung Orang Asli Punjut in Kahang here on Sunday.

He added that whatever happens, it is the prerogative as well as the right of the individual voters in GE14.

“I do hope that in GE14, Barisan will get a ruling mandate and support from all races for us to continue with our agenda of developing the nation,” he said.

Hishamuddin reminded voters not to be fooled by baseless claims on the final day of campaigning, but to think clearly.

“I believe there will be efforts made by certain quarters out to confuse voters for their personal goals and agenda.

“I hope those who go out and vote on Wednesday will not be swayed by false accusations, especially on social media,” he added.

Hishammuddin said such news would cause people to be emotional and make irrational decisions on an important day.
