Shahrizat: Our destiny as a country lies in our hands

-

PETALING JAYA: The Government’s track record in governing the country should be a yardstick for voters to ponder over as Malaysians go to vote tomorrow, says Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

“When we drop our ballot papers in the box, we will be responsible for choosing which party to govern us over the next five years.

“Our destiny as a happy and successful country rests in our hands,” said the Wanita Barisan Nasional chief in a statement on her Facebook yesterday.

Shahrizat, who is also Wanita Umno chief, said Barisan and Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak have served the country well and with full commitment.

“As a result of our multi-cultural community and dedication to practical governance, we live in a stable and progressive nation that has avoided many of the pitfalls that can inflict on a melting pot society like ours.

“The Prime Minister is fully committed to continuing this tradition, in serving our country diligently and with passion.

“This is clear from his style of leadership, the policies and programmes implemented, and the plans put in place to continue making Malaysia a great and safe country we are proud of and love,” she said.

Shahrizat added that though women in Malaysia have achieved “substantial successes”, there was still “a long way to go”.

“It is my dream that women fulfill our destiny in uplifting every aspect of Malaysian society, so that our children and generations to come will grow up in a nation they are proud of.

“And it is also my hope that no woman is left behind, by the Government and society, in any way, for as long as the Barisan Government is chosen by the people,” she said.
