Miri folk seek tireless rep to solve problems
MIRI: Local folks here are clear cut about the sort of wakil rakyat they are looking for.
The person must be down-toearth and hardworking.
“To me, the YB has to be hardworking, always with the people, and must be able to resolve our problems. The effort must be there,” said Miri Kampung Dagang resident Minah Bujang.
She sees such attributes in the Barisan Nasional candidate for Miri, Datuk Sebastian Ting.
She said MPs or assemblymen should always be on the ground with constituents and settle issues affecting the people.
“At the very least, there must be sincere effort,” she said.

he continued working for the community despite losing in 2013 to Miri PKR chief Teo Yu Keng.
“He has helped to solve many cases of squatter families’ land woes, and also cases of late registration of birth certificates.”
Sarawak DAP secretary Alan Ling, in a ceramah in Miri on Saturday night, acknowledged that Ting was a good man.
“He is a good person and a good politician. Unfortunately he is in the wrong party,” Ling said.
Ting is facing Teo in a “rematch” of the 2013 fight where Ting lost to Teo by 1,992 votes.
